We are pleased to announce the release of our geochemistry and basin modelling report on the South Viking Graben.
The report contains a comprehensive appraisal of some 15,490 samples from 237 wells in 15 quadrants, including source rock characterisation, oil-source correlation and 1-D modelling.
IGI’s strong experience in compiling and quality assuring petroleum geochemical databases has been recognized by the award of a large contract from the Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) to build a database for the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).
The effects of the alteration of petroleum in subsurface reservoirs due to microbial biodegradation or to physical evaporative fractionation processes are sometimes difficult to distinguish. Biodegradation is the degradation of petroleum compounds by aerobic or anaerobic microbes at the Oil-Water Contact (OWC) (e. g.
Next year on the 24-25 April 2019, the Geological Society will be hosting a conference entitled Petroleum Systems Analysis 'Science or Art? ' to celebrate the life of IGI's greatly missed founder and Director, Chris Cornford.
