Who can benefit

The training program is designed for explorationists involved in the development and/or assessment of PS models. Suitable for small to medium size groups (up to 8/10 per instructor). A basic understanding of sedimentary basins is the only requirement to benefit from this course.

Course Structure (or Teaching Method)

In-house training or online. The full BPSM course has a duration of 5 days but can be spread over two weeks (online) to allow for extended practice time with software modelling tools.

Topics

The BPSM training covers the full range of BPSM topics, including: Fundamental concepts and workflows; Model building, parameterization and calibration; Temperature and maturity data; Source rock maturity; Petroleum generation and migration; Prospect charge and trapping; and Risk analysis. Materials

We provide lectures in PDF format and pre-recorded videos for recap, as well as the  workshops’ tutorials and data. We also arrange for the software licenses without additional costs; the software used in the workshops require standard desktop/laptop configurations.

Schedule/Calendar

The in-house or online course can be arranged at your convenience, with a minimum advance notice and payment of one month.

Cost

Our training rate is £2000 p/day plus expenses. Discounted rates may be offered for combined training programs (e.g. petroleum geochemistry plus BPSM) or long-term contracts. Additional costs may include the preparation of contents or/and data, if required.
