Petroleum Software training to support our p:IGI and Metis software, held in-person or online

Petroleum Geology & Petroleum Systems Field Trips & Field courses held in the Wessex Basin (Dorset) and Devon, including taught components if required

One to One Mentoring - we can work with individuals and small teams in companies to train and assist them as part of their own project work

We can offer this training using your data and projects to increase the efficiency and relevance of the training for your staff, if you have your own ideas for the perfect training course, please do contact us and we will work with you to design and provide it for you. For details of examples modules, please click here.

Training Options

We organise and lead field trips to various localities in Devon in the southwest of England, Dorset and South Wales.  These range from half-day excursions in North Devon as part of training courses held at IGI’s premises to 5-day field-based courses where localities are investigated with respect to their petroleum systems components.

We also run field trip courses in Portugal on salt tectonics, petroleum systems and energy storage.

We deliver custom-made and one-to-one mentoring in petroleum geochemistry and petroleum systems modelling to suit your needs and requirements, including, bespoke lecture programs in basic to advanced petroleum geochemistry or petroleum systems modelling.   Hands-on teaching involving workshops that can include your own data sets.

The Basin & Petroleum Systems Modelling (BPSM) course is a balanced combination of background theory and hands-on exercises that will equip attendees with the ability to build and critically evaluate BPSMs, from model parameterization and workflows (1D, 2D and 3D), to petroleum systems analysis and basin/prospect de-risking.

This course has been developed to provide participants with knowledge and methods to better understand petroleum geochemical data and reports.  Participants will be able to make better-informed decisions relating to the sampling for, and commissioning of, geochemical analyses, with improved understanding of how petroleum geochemistry can be used in exploration and beyond.
