Seep biogeochemistry & organic geochemistry
I joined IGI in 2014, where I am a Senior Organic Geochemist at IGI and am involved in the Net-Zero Energy and Environmental Geochemistry Research & Development projects.
I received my PhD. in organic geochemistry from the University of Bristol (UK), researching methane stable isotope and biomarker geochemistry in hydrocarbons seeps, as well as microbial methanogenesis. I studied Geology at the University of Toulouse (France) for my diploma, followed by a master’s degree in Hydrogeology and Environment at the University of Avignon (France).
Prior to 2014, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher on the biogeochemistry of hydrocarbon fluids in marine seeps, entailing the investigation of stable isotope gas geochemistry and seep oil biomarker geochemistry, at GEOMAR (German Institute for Marine Geosciences, Kiel, Germany) and at the Portuguese Geological Survey (Lisbon, Portugal).
My interests lie in the geochemistry of methane and CO2 greenhouse gas, and in biomarker geochemistry for a range of industry and environmental applications which encompass (1) O&G from exploration to reservoir geochemistry; (2) forensic oil spill geochemistry; (3) modelling of the migration and emission of CO2 and methane; and (4) biogeochemistry of hydrogen, methane and CO2 accumulations in the subsurface.
In my spare time, I enjoy trekking, reading and yoga.
