Improved artefact management is a key update delivered in v2.3. Auto-artefacts cover the majority of artefacts including graphs, palettes, maps, pages, rule sets, dynamic sample sets and statistics.
In the new release, existing autographs have been reviewed and updated, and a range of new auto-artefact templates added. In addition to auto-artefacts provided with the p:IGI+ installation, users can also generate, save and share their own auto-artefacts. There are now four locations in which auto-artefacts can be stored:
Key new/improved features
Template auto-artefacts: the new release comes with a wealth of new auto-artefacts, including PVT autographs, lithostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic colour palettes, size palettes for typical rock-eval pyrolysis ranges and key interpretation pages (discussed further below).
Artefact info: IGI template auto-artefacts come with a list of tags to make filtering easier within the artefact manager. In addition, a direct link to the associated ig.NET or webpage and a reference to the artefact source is included in all templates. When creating your own auto-artefacts, users can also add their own internal tags, links and sources, right clicking on the artefacts and selecting "Artefact info...". If you are using company templates, it is useful to keep tags appropriate and consistent so that you don’t end up with an unmanageable list! Â
We are interested to see how you will use the notes section on each artefact. It can also be used to keep a record of any comments you have on the plot, map, etc, and could be used to store your developing interpretation?
Auto-artefact pages: analysis view pages have now been replaced with a number of auto-artefact page templates that are shipped with p:IGI+, as well as the increased flexibility to create your own custom pages. This allows simpler user content control based on analysis or indicator, or a combination of both. There is also an option to generate a page for all properties with data. Note that existing projects will retain their existing page structure, only new projects will be affected.
IGI are keen to regularly update the availability and expand the range of shipped auto-artefacts, and would love to know if there is anything you would like added.
