IGI Presenting at the ‘South Atlantic Symposium 2023’

David Gardiner & Tiago Cunha will be attending the TGS South Atlantic Symposium 2023 at the Geological Society of London on Thursday 23^rd November.

Tiago will be presenting a paper entitled: Synrift and postrift thermal evolution of margins: a re-evaluation of classic models of rifting.

Authors: Tiago Cunha, Marta Perez-Gussinye, Yanfang Xin, Raghu Ram, Miguel Andres-Martinez, Dongdong Dong and Javier Garcia-Pintado

The paper helps explain the presence of mature source rocks in ultra-deep water (inc. Venus, Graff, Jonker etc.), helping to de-risk one of the critical uncertainties in rifted passive margins, with applications across the wider South Atlantic conjugate margins and beyond. The work is a true collaboration between service (e.g. IGI) and operator (e.g. SINOPEC) companies and academia (e.g. University of Bremen).”
